Stress Busting Christmas Ideas that Will Save You Money and Time

Tuesday, June 12th, 2012

It’s that time of year again. The shops are hanging out their decorations with care in hopes, no really it’s because St. Nick is almost here! It seems like every year stress is a main ingredient during the holidays. With Thanksgiving here and Christmas not far off, most of us say the same thing to ourselves: This is the year I will shop early so I can avoid last minute shopping. I will begin the holiday season fully relaxed and enjoy it!

Yet every year time seems to slip away and suddenly the holidays arrive. You end up racing to the stores, panic-stricken, trying to find candy in the empty racks or a beautiful turkey for the dinner table that is now triple the price because the only store that has any left is the high-end market down the street.

Even worse, when you need to find that ideal last-minute gift for your loved ones, it is no longer available in the color or size needed and all the toys requested from Santa are sold out with no re-stocks in the near future. You end up paying far too much money for something that will most likely be returned or never used.

Now imagine an entirely different scenario. Imagine arriving Christmas morning stress free, able to sit back and enjoy a calm holiday with your family because you still have cash in the bank and time on your hands.

How can you beat holiday stress, save big bucks and arrive stress free for Christmas? Start today. The time to put a plan into action is now. Black Friday has arrived and there is no better time to start cashing in on huge bargains than right now. You can buy all your gifts and foods (ones that can be frozen) now and save large amounts of money. If you sign up for the customer loyalty programs, you may even be able to get brand name gifts for no more than sales tax only as I did last year.

Many huge sales take place the day after Thanksgiving. Most stores have huge discounts on name brand clothing, toys and jewelry to name just a few categories. Example: Last year a diamond bracelet valued at $5,000 was on sale for $199.00 but only the day after Thanksgiving and only during the early bird special. That’s typical of the type of sales you can expect if you do your research.

Check out the stock in the store now if you’re already there and make a list of what you would like to buy on sale the day after Thanksgiving so you are prepared to head straight to the departments needed. Making a road map of what department you want to hit first will help you avoid wandering aimlessly and missing the items you’ve placed on your list. If you think of it as a game show or competition, you’ll be more inspired.

How many times have you said to yourself: This year I will get Christmas cards out. Before you know it December is nearly over and Christmas is days away. You haven’t purchased the Christmas cards let alone put a stamp on one and you are too busy with everything else to do it. You beat yourself up, frustrated that yet again you are too late and time has run out. To avoid this frustrating cycle, start now when you aren’t as busy as you will be later on in the season.

Do one envelope a day or two or three a week and by Christmas, you will have reached your goal. If you don’t have Christmas cards left over from last year, do a Christmas letter instead to save time and money. Then after Christmas buy the cards for next year at 75% off so you’ll have the cards ready to go for next year.

Whatever you do, don’t overbook yourself. The holidays are not a contest and no one remembers who did the most last year. To avoid the stress of overbooking, make a wall calendar and put up the events that are most important to you and then prioritize. If you see it on a large scale in front of you, it will look like a map and help you make better choices for your time.

Take a bubble bath after a long day, with candles lit. If you have children, have your partner watch them so you can sit back and relax. Make sure to get some “me” time. Whatever you do, try to avoid diets during the holiday season. They will only add to your frustration and drain you of much needed energy. Instead, eat a healthy, well balanced diet and exercise. The exercise will give you the endorphins needed to keep the joy and celebration during the Christmas holidays.

There are many more stress busting ideas and ways to save money that you can come up with on your own. These are just a few to get you started. The main goal is to start now and be ready when the time comes so you won’t be shopping when you’re stressed out and frustrated. Make the time now and you’ll be enjoying the holidays as you did when you were a kid.

Viva Israel

Tuesday, June 5th, 2012

I recently had my senses assaulted by a pro-Intifada, letter-to-the-editor in my local newspaper. By now, most of us have been subjected to our unfair share of anti-Semitic rants condemning the tiny State of Israel to the trash heap of history, for having the audacity to defend herself against relentless attacks from every nook and cranny of its northern and southern borders. Yet, as these venomous letters continue to come fast and furious, the all too common response by all too many is no response at all. However, after mulling the thought over, under, sideways and down again, I could not let this particular letter go unchallenged.

In suggesting that “Palestine” has been “militarily occupied for over 40-years”, the writer failed to mention that the Arab nations rejected the Palestine “Partition Plan” which was created through U.N. Resolution 181 on November 29, 1947. This two-state solution to the crisis between the so-called Palestinians and Jews received the support of thirty-three nations, including the United States, France and the U.S.S.R. It guaranteed both the Jews and the Palestinians, living under British-rule at the time, their own independent and internationally recognized state. The Partition Plan was accepted by the Jews, which is one reason there exists a Jewish State in the Middle East today, but it was rejected by the Palestinians, and the Arab states, which is essentially why a Palestinian state does not exist today.

However, even before the historic U.N. vote, according to Emanuel A. Winston, a Middle East Analyst & Commentator, Arab political leaders were declaring their resolve to destroy a Jewish state in the heart of the Middle East. In November of 1947, according to Winston, Dr. Hussein Halide of the Palestine Higher Committee, called for a “holy war to be waged on the Jews”, promising that partitioning the land would lead to an Islamic crusade against the Jews. The same month, according to a November 30th New York Times article, and cited by Winston in a 2002 commentary, key members of the Arab League announced a Program for the “occupation of Palestine by the armies of the League and the forcible prevention of the establishment of a Jewish State”. A few months later, in April of 1948, the United Nations Security Council released the following statement: “Armed Arab bands from neighboring Arab lands have infiltrated the territory of Palestine and, together with local Arab forces, are defeating the purpose of the Partition Resolution by acts of violence”.

Winston goes on to point out that it was just a few months later, on the same day Israel proclaimed her independence; Azzam Pasha of the Arab League announced “Arab intention to wage a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades.” Twenty-four hours later, a full-scale invasion of Israel by the armies of Iran, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Yemen began and the Jews have been fighting for their very existence ever since. Yet, even now, it is the Jews who are constantly accused of engaging in criminal and terrorist acts. This is revisionist history writ-large and head in the sand par excellence.

Never in the history of the world, has a nation ceased to exist for over two-thousand years and then been reestablished in a single day. Israel is the exception. Since declaring its independence on August 14, 1948, the Jewish State has needed to be in a constant “state of war” readiness. In spite of this turbulent existence, Israel has been a blessing to the United States and the rest of the free world. With Israel, America is allied to a militarily adroit and economically vibrant western-style democracy. It is of course true that we help Israel through economic aid and other important non-monetary commitments, but this is a small price to pay for what we receive from this tiny nation in return. Not the least of which includes Israeli technological innovations.

According to Alan Caruba, of the National Anxiety Center, in a recent column published on the Free-Market News Network, cell phone technology was developed in Israel by Motorola, as were most of the Microsoft Windows operating systems. The Pentium NMX Chip technology was also designed in Israel according to Caruba, and AOL’s Instant Messenger application was developed ten years ago by four young Israelis. And that’s not all, Caruba goes on to point out that, on a per capita basis, Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees than any other nation in the world and except for the United States, Israelis file more patents on new inventions and processes than any other nation on the planet.

Over the past 100 years, the Jewish people, who represent barely 0.02% of the global population, have produced eight Nobel Peace Prize winners, fifty-three Nobel winners in physics, ten in literature, thirteen in economics and forty-three in medicine. In 2004, according to Caruba, two Israelis received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for “having discovered a process that will lead the way to DNA repair”. This is an incredible accomplishment by any measurable standard.

Why the world insists on begrudging these amazing people the right to live peacefully in their ancient, biblical, homeland, even when that means living adjacent to an angry race of people who hate them and are hell-bent on liquidating them, is curious at best, sinister at worst. And regardless of how you actually feel about the crisis between Israel and the Arabs, and even assuming you believe there is more blame on the part of the Jewish state, the following two sentences really should say it all:

If the Arabs laid down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews were to lay down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel.

Christmas Letter from santa for a toddler ?

Tuesday, June 5th, 2012

I am wanting to type up one of these to "mail" to my son who is a year and a half. I don’t want anything super extravagant, because of his age. Can anyone think of a good letter to type up for a little boy this young? I am trying to come up with ideas for the body of the letter. I do not want to order from a website because I am not comfortable giving all of his information.

how about this

Dear Tommy,

Everyone here at the North Pole is very busy preparing for
Christmas Eve. Mrs. Claus is mending my red suit as I had
so many holes in the knees from sliding down all of those
chimneys! I’m writing to remind you to be a good boy.
Help out your parents as often as you can and remember to be
polite to others everyday.

The elves and I agreed that you deserve to get something
extra-special this year. I’ve been told that you’re hoping to
find a new Truck when you wake up on Christmas morning.
We’ll do our very best!

I will soon be on my way to visit your house in San Diego. I
am excited to begin my long journey to the home of the many
good little boys and girls all around the world!

Merry Christmas and Warmest Wishes!

Doctors From Sunrise Dental Care Talks About What the Inner Circle Coaching Club Has Done for Their Practice

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

In this article, doctors from Sunrise Dental Care will share to you what my coaching club, the Inner Circle Coaching Club, has done for the good transition of their dental practice lately. They will share to you what they have done in the past few years in the transition of their dental practice… and how they became a large practice with lots of fun and excitement with the help of my coaching club. And this is something that we focus specifically at our dental practice transition website!

Here’s what the doctors will share on how my coaching club has promoted the transition of their dental practice:

In September of 2006, we joined Ed’s Super Conference. After joining the conference, we then thought on how we would begin the transition of our dental practice. So we bought and signed up for everything and then we implemented things and took action. We started the New Mover program, and the response after the first mailing was just okay (and so we thought until we looked at the numbers!). We had 4 new patients, our production was up to $6,500.00, and the return on investment (or our ROI) was “not so bad”. But then, the second mailing goes out a month later, and then the third mailing after that. So for the period of these months, we had 21 new patients in our dental practice, our production increased to $33,000.00, and the return on investment was “not bad at all”.

So then, we thought, for the transition of our dental practice, let’s so more things to increase our cash flow! So we put into action what Wendy Briggs taught us in Hygiene Diamonds. So in our fluoride production increase alone, we had an increase from $252.00 for September of 2006 to $3,068.00 for February of 2007. And we had lots of activities: we had the Care to Share Brochure perfected and put into action (with the trifold handed out to everyone); we had the Child’s First Visit Certificate, we joined America Smiles, and we also organized our first Invisalign Open House, where we mailed out flyers to existing patient number of 2,500, and placed as FSI in local Thursday Paper 7000 (with which 15 patients responded to it), records were processed and submitted that night, and 24 patients accepted treatment… and we had an amazing $105,000.00 that night! And it was really fun too! Also, we had our monthly newsletters, our first free publicity successful press release # 1, the “Toys For Tots” formal party, and the first patient appreciation event for “Toys For Tots”. We got the prize wheel too! We had lots of winners in the event, we had face painting, Santa and elf, hot dogs, new visitors, toys for tots, and most importantly we had fun! We also mailed a “Thank You” note with a Santa photo to all who attended. We had another New Patient Mover, wherein we mailed the first step in mid-January and followed the second and third steps three weeks apart (where we had 12 new patients so far and a production of $16,000.00). We also continued our Invisalign Open House, where we had FSI printed 10,000 and placed it in local paper and we’re still waiting for the final numbers. We also had the “attack on sleep apnea”, where we printed out 30,000 FSI, with 20,000 placed in Sunday paper and 7,000 placed in local Thursday paper (which costed approximately $2,500.00… and so far we had 15 new patients within 6 weeks). We also participated in local fund raisers, where the charity keeps $99.00, but we opt the patients into our office and then “WOW” them!

In the transition of our dental practice, we also have new projects which include joint venture with local bike shop to sponsor essay contest and the winner to be at next June Patient Appreciation event. We have implemented a reactivation campaign. We have lead generation ads on implants and Mother’s day contest theater advertisement VIP club that is still in progress.

So, in the transition of our dental practice, things are changing so fast that we are becoming “dizzy” (in a good way, of course!). Things just keep changing and growing! Our staff tripled, we hired a marketing assistant, our excitement tripled, our goals doubled and then tripled, and we just keep working on new projects. All we can say is that things just got crazier and crazier! We had insurance letter sent out, we made a “War Wall” (where we can post things up and put them in the order we want to work on) to keep things organized, and we get testimonials that are good for our ego! We also do dentistry in our spare time. As for now, our production doctors have more than doubled in 6 months (as well as our hygiene production); our new patients went from 20 per month to 60 to 70 per month; our excitement in our practice doubled; and we also doubled the bonuses that we give to our staff, which makes them very happy!

So, all that we can say is if you want to attain the transition that you would like to have in your dental practice, join Ed’s Inner Circle Coaching Club like we did… and achieve success as well as experience excitement and enjoyment in your dental practice!
